Mahindra is all set to launch a new off-road SUV, the Mahindra Thar 5-Door, to cater to the growing demand for a five-door version of its popular Thar. The Thar has gained immense popularity among car enthusiasts, and the demand for the five-door variant is quite high. The new Thar 5-Door will come with luxurious features and a powerful engine.
In terms of design, the Mahindra Thar 5-Door will have several changes compared to the existing three-door model. It will feature a new front grille, projector headlamps, and updated LED DRLs, similar to the electric Thar concept model showcased in South Africa in August. The new Thar will also come with attractive alloy wheels, additional doors, and pillar-mounted handles at the rear. It will sport new LED tail lamps as well.
The Mahindra Thar 5-Door will offer luxurious features to its customers. It is expected to come with a new touchscreen infotainment system and an improved user interface. Other expected features include a new front armrest, sunroof, redesigned center console, and rear parking camera, along with a spacious cabin.
The Thar 5-Door will be powered by a powerful engine that can easily tackle rough terrains. It will offer two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine. Both manual and automatic transmission options are expected to be available.
The launch of the Mahindra Thar 5-Door is expected to reduce the demand for the Maruti Jimny, thanks to its luxurious features and powerful engine. However, the exact pricing details of the Thar 5-Door have not been revealed yet. It is estimated to be priced between ₹16 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Thar is expected to be launched around mid-2024.
