Car exports from India to foreign markets have seen a significant increase in demand. Every year, companies export thousands of units of their cars to international markets. In September 2023, the total car exports reached 60,079 units, which was 8,856 units higher than the 51,223 units sold in September 2022.

One of the notable cars in the export list is the Volkswagen Virtus, with 1,202 units exported in September 2023. In comparison, only 5 units of the car were exported in September 2022. While sedan car exports saw a decline, with Honda City’s exports decreasing by 43.15% to 1,220 units, the Volkswagen Virtus remains a popular choice among foreign customers.

The Volkswagen Virtus is priced between INR 11.47 lakh and INR 18.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is available in two trim options: Dynamic Line and Performance Line.

The Virtus is offered with two engine options, a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115PS power and 178Nm torque, and a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 150PS power and 250Nm torque. It comes with options of a 6-speed automatic, 6-speed manual, and 7-speed DSG gearbox. The 1.0-liter MT variant offers a mileage of 19 km/l, making it the best-performing sedan in its segment. The 1.5-liter engine in the Virtus features the ‘Active Cylinder Deactivation’ technology, where 2 out of 4 cylinders automatically shut down for fuel saving.

In terms of features, the Virtus comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start/stop, and a fully digital driver display. It also offers a single-pane sunroof, connected car technology, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and rain-sensing wipers. Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and rear parking sensors.
