After a long wait, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has finally been launched in the Indian market. The price of the new motorcycle is Rs. 3,59,430 (ex-showroom). It has been launched in four different variants. With the launch of this new bike, Royal Enfield has strengthened its position in the mid-weight bike segment. This is the company’s fourth motorcycle in the 650cc engine segment.
★Royal Enfield showcased the SG650 concept bike model at EICMA 2021 and launched the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition in Goa last year. This is actually the production version of the SG650 concept model. This time, the company has launched the standard version of the Shotgun 650.
★The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is based on the company’s flagship cruiser motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650, but there are some differences in their designs. The new motorcycle comes with a 13.8-liter petrol tank with different designs on both sides. It also features an aluminum cowl above the headlamp. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 combines retro theme with modernity and premium design. Interestingly, the pillion seat of this bike can be removed.
★Many parts of the Super Meteor 650, such as the headlights, tail lights, and indicators, have been used in the Shotgun 650. Even the switchgear, adjustable brakes, and clutch lever are the same in both models.
★The front suspension of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been shortened, but the rear suspension remains the same. However, the length of the twin shock suspension has been increased.
★The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is equipped with a 648cc air-oil cooled engine, which is connected to a 6-speed gearbox. It can generate a maximum power of 46 bhp and a torque of 52 Nm. Reports claim that the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 can provide an average of 22 kilometers per liter of petrol.
