Maruti Suzuki EVX Spy: India’s Biggest Automaker Prepares to Enter the Electric Segment.

Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s largest car manufacturers, is gearing up to enter the electric vehicle (EV) segment in the Indian market. The company had previously unveiled its first electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki EVX, at Auto Expo 2023.

The Maruti Suzuki EVX Spy, the company’s upcoming electric vehicle, has been spotted undergoing testing in India. The spy images reveal a black-colored vehicle, making it difficult to gather information about its design elements. However, it is speculated that the EVX Spy will have an attractive design language, futuristic cabin features, and advanced technology.

The interior of the EVX Spy is expected to feature a futuristic cabin layout with a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other expected features include dual-zone climate control, electronic voice assist, sunroof, cruise control, wireless mobile charging, and adjustable private seats.

In terms of safety, the EVX Spy is anticipated to come with ADAS technology, six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The battery and range details of the EVX Spy have not been officially announced yet. However, reports suggest that it may come with a 60 kWh battery pack and offer a range of 550 km on a full charge.

The launch date of the Maruti Suzuki EVX Spy in India is expected to be around 2025, while it may be launched internationally in 2024. The price of the EVX Spy in India is estimated to be between ₹20-25 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete with other electric vehicles in the market, including the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 400 EV, and Hyundai Kona.
